Turns out the Auto Shop is nothing more than another shop that preys on people's ignorance. They do unnecessary work, over charge for what they do, and don't actually finish the "repairs" they do work on. Thanks to the basic work of changing a serpentine belt on my fiance's vehicle a couple weeks later we're stranded on the side of the road out of town. As an ASE certified shop they certainly Dont do thorough work.
We are sorry you feel this way, Ian. On April 12, we replaced the serpentine belt on your older van with 183,516 miles. You requested an appointment on May 3rd, because of a noise issue under the hood, but unfortunately you did not show up for the appointment. Then, right before the Memorial Day holiday weekend, you called and informed us that the compressor locked up and the belt broke. We strongly feel if you had brought your vehicle in to us for the testing on the noise on May 3rd, the chances of us determining any potential issues would have been greater. Unfortunately, we cannot predict when a part will fail if the part is working correctly when we inspect the vehicle. We wish you the very best!
